I've been wondering why it is that no other reasonable commentator has been pointing this out. The best answer I've been able to come up with is that incorrect analysis is better than nothing, and that you simply can't hope to fight a war without a propaganda narrative of one kind or another. The arrival of Yuval Noah Hariri on the scene appears to have been timely in this regard, although this may just be confirmation bias.
